The story, reported through TechCrunch stated, "The company (Spotify) confirmed the test to TechCrunch however, it didn't divulge more details on the technology and the process it uses neither did it set a timeframe for the launch."

The article appears to have an option for users to type in a text box to add information, commonly known as"prompts. "prompt," to enable the AI to generate playlists and listening suggestions.

While not officially announced the test could tell of the possibility of a new release on YouTube's streaming service.

Spotify has been busy in the past year, with user listening analytics being an important area of focus. The year-long "Spotify Wrapped" has been released to users to review the top songs they've heard and tracks from the platform's millions of music tracks.

Spotify invests heavily in AI

The year before, Spotify launched its Personal DJ feature. The feature allowed users to connect to an online DJ, which Spotify proclaimed as a "Dynamic AI voice Platform."

It is unknown if Spotify plans to integrate Personal DJ to the tested feature that was discovered on TikTok however, AI is an enormous source of interest for the company. According to the February issue, "Personalization is at the heart of what we do within Spotify."

Daniel Ek, CEO of Spotify has announced that the streaming platform was going through the process of removing redundant employees.

The Co-Founder and senior role owner said that the flurry of job reductions "is not a step back; it's a reorientation of the strategic plan."

It is unclear whether this investment into automation is related to the redundancies, but AI is likely to be an integral component of Spotify's plans for the future.
